We are very proud and pleased to announce the appointments of Leesa Wheelahan and Hamish Coates to the Institute as associate professors. Both have extensive track records in their specific areas of expertise and as such do not need an introduction. Leesa predominantly will be working on projects related to the VET-Higher Education interface and will be responsible for further developing and implementing our research program in this area. In addition, for the first part of this year she will be lead investigator for the project on the Quality of Teaching in VET, commissioned by the Australian College of Educators. Hamish will further develop the Institute’s profile in the areas of quality, performance indicators, and institutional management and leadership. For the first part of this year he will be responsible for the completion of the VET leadership project, the preliminary outcomes of which currently are being workshopped. In addition to his position at the Institute, Hamish will retain his position with ACER where he will be leading the OECD’s AHELO project (Assessment of Higher Education Learning Outcomes).
